The Scattered Moai of Rapa Nui aren't the only reason to visit Easter Island

We all know them from books, movies and comics — those large stone heads jutting from the soil on an exotic island far away. And for good reason; the Moai are captivating in both stature and appearance. But there is so much more to see and do on Rapa Nui (also known as Easter Island or Isla de Pascua) — from ruins, volcanoes, dazzling coastline and, of course, food. The seafood is from one of the deepest, cleanest parts of the Pacific, caught daily by local fishermen in small boats. You can buy it right from the boat or have one of the many restaurants prepare it for you, island style. My recent CNBC.com Global Traveler piece offers a peek into this one-of-a-kind place on the planet worth visiting.

So just click here or on the image above and see why you need to add Easter Island to your bucket list.
